About Texas Roadhouse
Texas Roadhouse is known for its steak, ribs, and homemade rolls.
They pride themselves on the fact that almost their entire menu is made from scratch.
The restaurant chain was started in 1993 when a man named Kent Taylor wanted to start a family restaurant that gave good food and a fun experience to its guests while still maintaining an affordable price.
Taylor’s restaurant chain took off and has been successful ever since.
Texas Roadhouse now has 580 locations spread across the United States and 22 international locations.
They have kept their commitment to family-friendly fun through line dancers and jukeboxes.
They’ve kept their focus on good food as well.
What Is The Official Texas Roadhouse Military Discount?
Texas Roadhouse gives back to military members in many ways, but the most often used generosity is its free Veterans Day menu.
Active duty, retired, and veteran service members can pick up a voucher for a free meal from a select menu on Veteran’s Day.
Just stop by on Veterans Day and show your military ID. You can get your free meal then and there for dine-in or takeaway. Alternatively, you can takeaway a voucher to use later.
In 2022, the voucher was valid until May 30, 2023.
Military Discount
Texas Roadhouse’s policy on military discounts (other than the Veteran’s Day promotion) is less clear.
Texas Roadhouse is a franchise operation. Therefore, any discounts are set by the franchise owner or location manager.
For the most part, at the majority of Texas Roadhouse locations, military members get 10% off their final bill every single time they eat at the restaurant.
To take advantage of deals offered by Texas Roadhouse, you simply need to show your military ID or other proof of service to your cashier.
If the franchise owner or manager has a military discount policy in place, they will add the discount to your final bill.

Who Can Claim This Discount?
The Texas Roadhouse daily military discount and Veterans Day deals can be used by both active military members and veterans.
This includes members of all five military branches as well as active duty, Reserves, and National Guard members in each branch.
It includes past service members in all of these areas as well.
The website does not mention if past military members who have been dishonorably discharged can take advantage of this deal.
For clarification on this, you may want to call the restaurant nearest to you to ask. However, normally someone with a dishonorable discharge would not be eligible for the veteran’s ID card required.
The discount does not mention that it can be used for family, so it is likely only able to be used for the service member themselves.
What Are The Restrictions?
The website does not mention the 10% military discount or any restrictions. If you’re not sure, you should phone your local Texas Roadhouse to find out if it participates in the program.
However, we do know that you cannot take advantage of this deal without proof of military service.
If you have a military ID or other proof of service, you shouldn’t come across any restrictions.
The military free meal has a restriction, in the fact that it features a limited selection of meals to choose from.
It requires proof of service to be redeemed as well.

Other Ways Texas Roadhouse Gives Back
It is important to note that along with their generous daily discount and free Veterans Day meal, Texas Roadhouse continues to give back to the military.
They are a partner with Homes For Our Troops.
Through this partnership, Texas Roadhouse helps to raise the funds that are necessary to build houses for severely injured veterans.
The houses are given to these men and women for free to honor the sacrifices they made for their country, so Texas Roadhouse’s involvement plays a huge role in their success.
The restaurant chain raises money through motorcycle rides, donating a portion of their gift card sales, and hosting a variety of fundraising events to give back to this organization.
They provide food to the volunteers who build the houses at their Key Ceremonies every time a house is donated to a service member in need as well.
Texas Roadhouse has helped this organization to build over 274 homes so far.

We went to texas roadhouse yesterday and the way they honored my son in law who’s on active duty was by discounting 10% off of ONLY his meal totaling a $2.00 discount off of a bill that was over $160 dollars. That really felt so disrespectful. When we asked they said all texas roadhouses do the discount differently.
Just had dinner tonight and only got the 10% on my entree, nothing for the appetizer or drinks.
We ate at Texas Roadhouse in Lady Lake FL on Mother’s Day. We reminded them twice of my husbands military veteran discount & showed his ID. Jan Reyes the manager told us that Mother day is federal holiday (we explained to her that it isn’t). …and that they don’t give the military discount on holidays .
Finally after explaining again that they were haggling over 2.50 discount (75$ was total bill with tip) no coupons or vouchers involved btw….they grudgingly gave us the discount. My husband is 28 yr veteran of the USAF.
Come on Texas Roadhouse do you honor our military or not??????
