Pull the tab on the front of the magazine all the way to the bottom and it will latch and stay there. Then you can easily load the BBs in the front slot of the magazine. There is a small beveled hole towards the bottom for just that purpose. Insert the magazine into the magazine well and then push the small release on the bottom of the magazine to release the follower and to put tension on the BBs.

Yes, it has a safety on the right side just above the trigger opening. It slides fore and aft. In the SAFE position, when the safety is slid forward a white mark is visible. In the FIRE position the safety is slid to the rear and a red mark is visible. The magazine release is on the left side just at the bottom/back of the trigger opening. The two controls pictured on the left side just below the non functional slide are just molded in and non functional. There is also a non functional control on the right side, possibly to mimic the slide release on the original pistol.

To load the BBs you first release the magazine by pressing the button on the left side of the gun just behind and at the lower side of the trigger opening. The magazine slides out the bottom of the grip. There is a slot in the face of the magazine with a small serrated/spring loaded follower. Slide this from the top down to the bottom of the magazine where it will lock in that position. There is a small opening just at the top of the follower where you can insert the BBs. I found that by holding the magazine with the face up several BBs can be allowed to roll along the top of the groove. They can then be slid back and allowed to drop into the opening. This is much faster than trying to load one BB at a time into the hole. When the magazine is full you then release the follower to push the BBs up to the top of the magazine. There is a small part of the follower that projects from the bottom of the magazine when it is locked into the loading position. By pushing it up toward the face of the magazine it will release and allow the spring to push the follower into the stack of BBs. The magazine can then be inserted into the pistol, the position for firing.

I ordered spare magazines from airgundepot.com. I have the same S & W air gun plus a Crosman Tac air gun, both can use the same magazine. The magazines come in pairs and cost about $10-15. It does not take long to shot through the three magazines. The spare magazines I got look just like the original equipment. Both my guns have laser sights. See photo. The slide is NOT blowback and does NOT move whatsoever. Once the handle/co2 cover is on the only moving parts are the trigger, safety and the green rear sight and the button to release the magazine.

One magazine ships with the gun. No CO2 capsules, or BB's, or extra magazines are included. Documentation recommends the use of Walther CO2 capsules, RWS Chamber Lube, and Flawless BB's.

Shoots metal bbs. For plastic bbs would suggest an Air Soft gun, but my experience is the Air Soft is only effective for approximately 20 to 30 feet. When I first receive my S&W M&P it shot great but very quickly developed C02 leaks. I have stopped using this gun because it simply does work. If you're looking for a good bb pistol, I would suggest something other than the M&P.

No, it is a BB repeater. However there are versions of this gun that do shoot pellets, this one uses high capacity spring fed magazine for BBs. I would recommend this gun if you are looking at a cheap plinker for your backyard. The accuracy isn't the best but it shoots fast and you can get a pretty good shot group at around 25 yards.

Slide the grip back, insert the cartridge, and tighten the screw underneath. It's very easy.

If you get one like I got you will need to replace it twice in the first hour. The seal leaked in mine. I own six air guns (five use Co2) and am not inexperienced with them. Buy the Crosman 2240. It will make you very happy. Check it out on U-Tube.

This has a standard picatinny/weaver rail. Virtually any pistol laser will fit it. There's a crosman laser and an umarex laser here on airgundepot that will fit.

I'm not sure about the rail type. It won't take the laser I have on another pistol so I'm not sure it will receive any laser. The rail has three slots. It is 2cm wide and 3.5 cm long. It has a shallow "v" notch. Like I said, I can't put the laser from my Springfield on the rail of this gun.

If you stored your gun with a CO2 cartridge in it, you may have a bad o ring gasket (remove your cartridges before storage). If so, order a replacement. Also, it is possible you are not seating the cartridge firmly enough to seal it against the gasket. You don't want to apply too much torque to the screw, but you may need to turn it a bit more once you've punctured the cartridge in order to seat it fully (also make sure the gun is clean, dirt could be fouling the seal). As a final note, I recommend putting a drop of pellgun oil on the tip of each cartridge prior to inserting. It helps lube, clean, and in theory preserve the o ring.

As an avid hunter and air rifle enthusiast, being an owner of this B.B. Pistol i wouldn't had no idea of why it would've leaked out on me also! Fact of the matter, before purchasing this or any shooting gear, or like anything you would pre-purchase you should do your homework. What i mean is, check out the reviews and comments over and about such product! Doing so, i read a very important thing about a consumer who bought this exact same gun product and had such issues. He was advised by someone to do what will resolve such leaking issues of this gun as in any other Co2 product. I learned that by putting on a little bit of oil, even cooking oil on the tip and around the Co2 head will seal well with the screw on the rubbery tip in the gun Co2 receiver chamber, if you may call it that. I have let my gun sit with the same Co2 for 1 to 3 months without changing it and when i shoot a few rounds, it shoots with the same power, no less!......Guys "OIL The Tip Of The Co2 Bottle Cartridges"...just a tad bit with the tip of your finger, set the Co2 cartridge in the gun, hold it by the bottom round end of the cartridge, "VERY" important, make sure it's straight and aligned with the Co2 inlet chamber receiver, then proceed to close the hatch once cartridge is in place normally. Then."Slowly".. begin turning the fastener knob on the bottom of the gun until it makes contact with the cartridge, once it makes contact and it feels a little tight don't continue screwing it, to completely release the gas in the pistol...STOP!!! Before you make that last step, reopen the hatch, and examine that the Co2 is properly aligned with the cartridge release chamber hole, once you see it is nice and straight, then close the gun Co2 load hatch and proceed screwing it faster until you hear it releasing it completely, don't get discouraged when you hear a bit of a leak, that's just momentarily and it's perfectly normal. If you hear it leaking while screwing it, don't stop screwing it till it's fully screwed in to the chamber receiver, just don't over screw it, it will work beautifully. That's my answer and personal experience with this gun, it has operated and worked very well for me! It performs excellent every time i reload a cartridge, and shoot never a problem! Sorry for all the writing, but being specific at what you do can go along way in the long run. ...Hope i was specific enough to help cure this leaky issue guys....good luck and safe shooting!

Did you screw it all the way in? You're supposed to twist it, then you hear a quick "tss" until you twist it to the end. If you did, and it still leaks, something might be faulty.

It is very easy to do so. Just slide back the handle, unscrew the existing Co2 capsule, put new one in and screw it back tight.

the m&p 45 is closer to the real one in feel ,i have a 40c and this one doesnt have the feel of it.

This gun can shoot hollowpoint pellets. Pointed ones are longer and can pose a problem, but hollow will be fine.

This gun isn't very loud at all. It is a simple CO2 powered pistol.

You should not leave CO2 in any gun for an extended period of time for the reasons you have seen. Doing that can break the seal and if that happens, the gun will not fire and must be repaired through the manufacturer. What Umarex told you is accurate information. If you don't want to remove CO2 each time, it would be best for you to use a gun that has a different power source.
