If you live in the US, you’ve heard of Hilton Hotels. If you actively (or previously) served in the US military, you might be wondering if Hilton has a military discount.
I’m happy to report that Hilton does, indeed, offer a military discount.
The standard discount is a 10% discount that can be redeemed at any of their 5,500 properties worldwide.
Click Here to find out how to redeem it.
Hilton Hotels also offer additional bonuses such as honor programs.
Even if you don’t have a military background, there are still plenty of ways that you can save money while looking to stay at a Hilton hotel.

Just note that you’ll have to show your military ID at check in, so don’t forget to bring it!
Here’s a few other ways the Hilton hotel chain gives back to the men and women serving in uniform.
Hilton Hotels Discount Option #1 – Hilton Honors Program
Hilton Hotels has a program that’s available to everyone, military and non-military alike – the Honors program.
The Honors program is a program in which those that stay at a Hilton property gradually rack up points for future use.
Those properties include hotels like:
- Hampton Inn
- Doubletree Hotels
- Homewood Suites
- Garden Inn
- Embassy Suites Hotels
- Waldorf Astoria
- Home2 Suites
These points can be used in lieu of money to pay for future stays, thus allowing frequent Hilton Hotel users to save by using points.
In addition that benefit, the Hilton Honors program also offers extra perks for its members such as price matching and periods when users get double the points for every stay.
Hilton Honors members will also gain other money-saving perks such as daily breakfast, premium wi-f and late checkout options.
Members earn anywhere between 10 and 20 points for every dollar spent depending on their membership plan, so members could easily earn thousands of points by staying a few times a year at a property.
If a member also makes reservations during a “2x the points” event, they can rack up the points even more easily.
To sign up for this program, shoppers simply have to go to Hilton’s website here which is dedicated to their honors program.
From there, they’ll be able to select the kind of plan that they want, whether it’s member, silver, gold or diamond.
After selecting their plan, shoppers can select the blue button on the left side of the screen to complete the signup process.
The only downside to this program is that it is a paid membership.
So if what you’re getting back doesn’t outweigh the money you’re putting into the membership, it won’t be worth it.
Hilton Hotels Discount Option #2 – Couponing Sites
If shoppers are looking for a free way to save money, then couponing sites are a good alternative.
Websites such as RetailMeNot and Slickdeals are excellent options when it comes to saving.
These websites collect all sorts of coupons and codes that are available across the internet and compose an easy-to-read list of them all.
These coupons range from knocking a certain percentage off your total, to ensuring price matching, to discounts if you stay during certain nights of the week.
The easiest way to find these coupons is to simply go to the websites – retailmenot.com or slickdeals.net – and type in “Hilton Hotels” in the search bar.
You can also type in the name of the couponing website you want to use along with Hilton Hotels to get to the same webpage – so your search should look something like “slickdeals hilton hotels”.
Once you’re at the couponing site of your choice, you can look through and see which coupons apply to the purchase you plan on making.
When you see a coupon that you like, you can click the blue “Get Deal” button adjacent to the coupon so that you can begin setting up your registration.
This button could also say something along the lines of “Get Reward” or “Show Coupon Code”, but all buttons serve the same function.
The couponing site should automatically apply the code, so there shouldn’t be any added effort on your part.
The best part about these websites is that they also allow shoppers to filter results so that they only see the coupons that they want to see.
This saves time that would have been spend endlessly scrolling and sifting through coupons until finding one relevant to one’s purchase.
Another perk to these websites is that they show which coupons have been “verified”.
When a coupon is verified, that means that the coupons has been successfully used by other shoppers, which means you don’t have to worry about using a bogus or expired coupon.

Hilton Hotels Discount Option #3 – Cashback Sites
Sites such as Ebates or Rakuten offer cashback incentives for shopping with them.
What is a cashback incentive, you ask?
A cashback incentive is when a website offers an app, plugin or other service that tracks your online purchases.
From these online purchases, the plugin decides how much money you should be getting back simply because you used their service while shopping.
Installing the plugin is simple; all you have to do is go to the cashback site of your choice and begin signing up for a free membership.
Sometime during or right after the signup process you should be prompted to install the plugin.
Installing the plugin is mostly identical to downloading a file from the internet or from an email.
All you have to do is follow the website’s instructions, and the plugin should install itself onto your web browser.
You’ll likely see a big purple “E”, or some other letter or logo to indicate that the plugin is installed and functional.
Once the plugin is installed, you can begin saving!
To start claiming your savings, you can search for the store or business of your choice – in this case Hilton Hotels – and see what comes up.
You should be brought to a page that looks similar to the third-party couponing sites mentioned above.
The page should list every single coupon and discount that can be applied to a Hilton Hotel purchase, from discounts on certain purchases to price matching.
Under every coupon and discount listed, there should also be a number in red digits stating what the cashback amount or cashback percentage is for money spent at the company of your choice.
For Hilton resorts in this case, Ebates offers between 1.0% and 2/5% cashback on purchases, depending on whether or not you’re a member of Hilton’s Honors program.
Those who aren’t a member of the program get a bigger cashback percentage than those who are.
To access these benefits, the easiest thing to do is to go to the cashback site of your choice, log in – or sign up if you’re new to the site – and review the deals that are available to you.
From there, there will be buttons adjacent to each deal that will allow you to go straight to Hilton’s website and complete your reservation.

Which benefit to use
The best way to determine which benefit you should use is to simply crunch some numbers.
Each purchase is different and there isn’t any one-size-fits-all option when it comes to saving money; that’s why there are so many options out there!
If you’re constantly traveling and staying at hotels, whether it’s for work or because you live abroad, then the honors program may be the best choice for you, simply because it may be too much of a hassle to constantly check couponing websites, and because cashback sites seem to offer less cashback to members.
If you only travel every so often, such as a couple of times a year or less, then a couponing-cashback combination may work best for you.
Cashback sites typically have partnerships with tons of different companies, so it always helps to have an account with a cashback site anyway; you aren’t losing anything by signing up with them and installing their plugin or app.
Cashback sites also typically have mobile apps, making it easy to use their services while on the go.
And coupons are always helpful when it comes to saving money.
There’s no harm in hopping over to RetailMeNot to see what deals are being offered by them.
Just like cashback sites, couponing sites also tend to have mobile apps that make it easy to use when you don’t have a computer handy.
