The Disneyland Hotel dates back to the 1950’s though none of the original buildings remain in existence at the resort.

It has undergone several renovations in the last several years.

The hotel consists of three different towers (Adventure, Fantasy, or Frontier) for guests as well as many other amenities.

The Never Land Pool area received a redesign in 2012, and features two new water slides at the mini-water park.

It is a short walk to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Disneyland Hotel is obviously very “Disney themed” with furnishings and decor unlike any other place you’ll stay at.

When you aren’t cooling off at the herald pool area you can also enjoy dining on site with your family.

The hotel features its own buffet along with a Steakhouse and couple of different lounge-type bars.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the most modern of the three lodging options located on Disneyland Resort property.

The hotel opened in 2001, and is designed to celebrate early 20th Century Arts and Crafts era.

Some Anaheim hotels may provide their own special military rates.

You will need to check with the specific hotel directly for more information.

Extra Magic Hours

You deserve to receive military discounts during your family vacation to Disneyland. Image: Flickr

Those that decide to stay at one of the hotels located at Disneyland are given the perk of Extra Magic Hours.

The special privilege guarantees your family early admission to select attractions, entertainment, stores, and restaurants.

Families essentially get one extra hour of fun before the park opens to the general public which is a good incentive to stay on the property.

In that hour you can take advantage of far shorter lines to all the attractions.

NOTE: Both Disneyland theme parks have their own Extra Magic Hour schedules. The perk isn’t always available, or at every park so you will want to check with the hotel beforehand to see if Extra Magic Hours will get provided during your stay.
