BAH For Fairbanks
Fairbanks is not nearly as large as Anchorage yet houses several more military bases.
The military-friendly town has a sizeable population and access to necessities.
Regardless, military families are notoriously tough in Fairbanks since they live in the coldest reported city in the interior region of Alaska.
Alaska military bases in Fairbanks, AK include:
- Fort Wainwright
- Fort Greely
- Eielson Air Force Base
- Clear Space Force Station
The U.S. military presence in Fairbanks has been considerable since Fort Wainwright was established during WWII.
Fort Wainwright is one of two U.S. Army posts in Alaska (the other is Fort Greely).
Meanwhile, Eielson AFB is under the command of the United States Air Force.

Clear Space Force Station (previously Clear Air Force Station) exists outside Denali.

BAH For ISC Kodiak Coast Guard Base
Kodiak Island hosts a series of communities in a very secluded portion of Alaska.
The island is extremely remote as you can only return to the mainland via airline or ferryboat.
Nevertheless, there is a military presence because of ISC Kodiak Coast Guard Base.
